He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Shakelton and Ruth Lister Shakelton; his daughter Virginia L. Shakelton; and his siblings, John W. Shakelton, Jr., Jean S. Shafer, Jane Cohen, Anna Hunt and Martha Shakelton.
He is survived by: his wife Dollie Hess Shakelton of Pennsville; his daughters, Teresa Killingsworth (James) of Franklinville, Regina Henderson (Rondy, Jr.) of Rosenhayn and Junell Lilly (Robert Westergaard) of Millville; and his stepdaughter Debra Cooper of Pennsville. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Charles's memory to Crossroads Christian Ministries, 308 North West Blvd., Newfield, NJ 08344.
