She was predeceased by: her parents, John Hendershot and Ruth Hendershot; her husband Benjamin Lilly; and her son John Lilly. She is survived by: her children, Bobby Lilly, Walter Lilly (Shirley), Verna Dorry (Frank) and Nancy Garlic; and her sister Barbara "Dolly" DeLello. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the Lilly family has asked that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org), in Velma's name.
