He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Gano; his parents, Joseph Gano and Pearl Gano; and his brother-in-law John Petersen. He is survived by: his children, Dawn, Erin and Wayne Gano; his granddaughter Christina Gano; and his sister Shirley Petersen of Perth Amboy. He is also survived by his three nephews.
