She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Schneider and Louise Menzel Schneider Cowan; her stepfather Thomas Cowan; her husband Melvin H. Bennett; and her brothers, Bernard (Ann), William (late Marian) and Harry Schneider (late Frances).
She is survived by: her daughter Melody; her son-in-law Robert Lythgoe; her grandchildren, Rob (Mary Beth) and Kellie (Doug); and her great grandchildren, Bobby, Maddie, Caroline, Lindsay, Lucas and Ashley. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and amazing caregivers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Claire J. Bennett to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Checks should be made out to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation.
