He was predeceased by: his father William Johnson; and his sister Kim Cain. He is survived by: his mother Violet Johnson (Williams); his wife Kathleen; his sons, Ryan and Robert Whitcomb; his sisters, Theresa Cain Williams and Vicki Johnson-Schuman; his grandson Cayden Whitcomb; his stepmother Elizabeth "Toots" Johnson; his stepsister Kim Smith; and his friends, Al James, Bruce Spencer, Clarence DeBolt and Brian Hopkins. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
