He was predeceased by: his parents, Rose Ackerman and Charles Ackerman; and his sister Carol Griffith (Ackerman). He is survived by: his close friend James Cicalese; his sisters, Joyce Price (DJ) and Christine Apkarian (Vartkes); his nephews, Michael Griffith (Kristin) and Sean Mahoney (Lisa); his niece Alexandra Kushnir (Andrew); his great-nephews, Simon and Connor; and his great-niece Emma.
