He was predeceased by: his spouse Helen Papadeas Birbilis; his parents, John Nicholas Birbilis and Aphrodite Abariotou Birbilis; and his brother George John Birbilis. He is survived by: his children, John Birbilis (Effie), Peter "Takis" Birbilis (Ninita) and Effie Murphy (Tom); his sibling Kimon John Birbilis (Marianna) of Athens, Greece; and his sibling-in-law Diana Birbilis. He is also survived by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
