She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, James "Jimmy" Jones Sr. and Sara Catherine Smith; her husband Carlton Soudan; her sons, Ade and Abdul; her siblings, Kenny and Toya; her daughter-in-law Tori; and her grandchildren, Charaé, Najah, Inaya, Niara and Asan. She was also cherished by nieces, nephews, grandnephews, grandnieces; and numerous dear friends.

“I did not know Ms. Lynda Jones, but I have had the pleasure of meeting her son, Ade. Ade and my son, Jefrey Jones, attended Morehouse College and have been friends for over three decades. Ade, along with several other friends, traveled to Ft. Washington, Maryland to attend Jefrey's father's memorial service in 2008. I was impressed with their generous support, empathy, and compassion. Ms. Jones's obituary chronicled a life well lived...Her legacy of kindness lives on in Ade. RIP Ms. Jone”
