She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Earl Mayer and Marva Kneeshaw Mayer; her husband John W. Vernam III; her sister Marva Mayer Wyckoff (John); her brother-in-law William Vernam; and her grandson Stephen Fine.
She is survived by: her sister Betsy Hinkle; and her sister-in-law Carol Hill. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
