JANE ELIZABETH BERTLES, GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN

Mrs. Jane Elizabeth Bertles of Ewing, Trenton, NJ, departed this life with calm dignity on January 27, 2022. She was under the excellent care of Aspen Hills Healthcare in Pemberton, NJ where recent family visits lifted her spirits, soothed her heart and brought her much joy as she quietly listened to the 23rd Psalm and Amazing Grace.

Jane was born on March 30, 1936 in Johnsonburg PA to the late Gladys I. and Roy W. McGonigal Sr. She attended local public schools and was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, Class of 1955. Jane was a proud Factory Worker who started working at Stackpole Carbon Company, Johnsonburg, PA, the day after graduation. In 1956, she moved with her family to the Trenton area.

After arriving in NJ, Jane worked at the Star Porcelain Company of Trenton where she met the love of her life, William F. Bertles. Bill was the guy next door who was always there for her, giving her candy for Valentine’s Day from which she saved the beautiful boxes for many years. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2002.

Jane & Bill loved camping and enjoyed campgrounds from NJ to PA. Family was very important to them, and Jane was always very happy to hear that the Family was growing. Jane was very loved & appreciated by family and friends and adored by her many nieces and nephews. The eldest of four, Jane leaves behind her sister, Anita of Mays Landing, NJ and brother Roy Warren, of Bentonville, AR. Preceded in passing by her beloved Sister-in-Law, June (January 2020), Brother, Ron (December 2020) and dear Nephew, Kenneth (May 2021), she greatly missed them and mourned them deeply.

Jane will be placed beside Bill at Greenwood Cemetery and a Celebration of Life is planned for July. For more information email [email protected] or call family.
