It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Karen Anne Dowdy of Paulsboro, New Jersey, born in Swedesboro, New Jersey, who passed away on April 3, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lousia Shivery and Clyde Shivery; her sister Claire Kauffman; her former husband John R. Dowdy Jr.; and her son John R. Dowdy, III.

She is survived by: her husband Ben Sias; her son Aaron (Carrie); her stepdaughters, Kerri, Casey (Max) and Andrea; her son Louie Donofrio (Alisa); her grandchildren, Riely, Jonna, Nora, Junior, Sammy, Ethan, Emma, Zoey, Naila, Matt Jr. Ella, Olivia Tanczak and Giana Miller; her nieces, Cindy Battersby (Frank) and Charlene Hresko (Bryan); her nephew Keith Kauffman (Marilee); and her friend Elizabeth Feldman (Betts). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Gibbstown VFW (743 W Broad St, Gibbstown, NJ 08027).
