He was predeceased by: his son William "Billy" Smith; and his siblings, William Smith, Dina Gawley (late Charlie) and Roger Smith. He is survived by: his close friend Marge DiPasquale of Paterson; the mother of his children Doris Smith; his children, Robert Smith Jr. (Kim) of North Haledon, Steven Smith of Paterson and Kelli Ann Panico (Jack) of Pequannock; his grandchildren, Tiffany Marie, Robert III, Brittany Lynn, Tyler William, Katelyn, Giocchino and Gianna; his great grandchildren, Alex, Brianna, Arianna, Niko, Zane, Saint James and Mia; his stepsons, Bryan Di Pasquale (Anna) and Anthony Di Pasquale (Lori); his stepgrandchildren, Michael, Nicholas and Brianna Di Pasquale; his brother Jimmy Smith (AnneMarie); and his sibling-in-law Michele Smith. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
