He was predeceased by: his brother Ronnie; his mother Evelyn Cox-Martin; his sister Paula Cox; and his niece Shay Hicks. He is survived by: his son Dwight Hicks of Paterson, NJ; his grandchild Dejaun Hunter (Jessica); his former spouses, Jamar Hicks (Shay) of Paterson, NJ and Damaris Hicks of Hackensack, NJ; his great grandchildren, Adonis, Josh and Dash; his sister Theresa Hicks-Mims of Raleigh, NC; his nephews, D'Ron Mims of Raleigh, NC and Deaven Mims of Paterson, NJ; his niece Connetta Myeshia Hicks-Lamont (Ali) of Indian Trail, NC; his cousin Glen Rollins; and his close friends, Larry Artis, William Baker and Ronald Brooks. He is also survived by great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
