He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gusto Matos and Eva Lovaina; his children, Orlides Matos, Ormedis Matos, Jr. (Jennifer Ortega), Estrella Matos (Miguel Alicea), Suleiry Matos (Tony Gonzalez) and Barbara Matos; his former wives, Rosalia Negron and Esmeralda Salas; and his significant other Rosa Santiago. He was also cherished by two sisters, 5 brothers, several nieces and nephews.
