Luis A. Cartagena Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Luis A. Cartagena of Paterson, New Jersey, who passed away on February 14, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Jose Cartagena Santini (Guadalupe Mateo); and his wife Margarita (Rodriguez). He is survived by: his siblings, Rafael, Carlos of Chicago, IL and Genoveva Zayas of Santa Isabel, PR; his children, Eric, Nilsa Marti (Jose) of Paterson and Tommy (Patty) of Chantilly, VA; his grandchildren, Eddie of San Juan, PR, Jose Luis Marti of Winter Haven, FL, Christopher of Dumfries, VA and Elyssa of New Orleans, LA.; his stepgrandchildren, Rose, Wanda, Christina, Joe Marti and Idalix Granados; his great grandchild Luna Sofia Marti; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Giovanna (Gigi), Marie Danyelle, Felix, Gabryel, Raenah, Anabelle, Brayden, Malachi, Elijah, Addicus, Gionni and Daisy Marie.
A celebration of life was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (150 Gregory Ave, Passaic, NJ 07055). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the same location. Viewing was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the East Ridgelawn Cemetery (255 Main Ave, Clifton, NJ 07014).
