John E. Decker Obituary

Services for John E. Decker, 90 of 123 Lafayette St. will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 in the Scanlan Funeral Home, 421 12th Ave. The Rev. Dr. Louis Vanden Berg, pastor emeritus of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Interment will be in Laurel Grove Memorial Park. Friends may call from 3 to 10 p.m today.
Mr. Decker, a retired mason contractor, died Saturday night in Paterson General hospital after a brief illness. Born in Bloomingdale, Jan 22, 1866, He was the son of the late William and Sarah Provost Decker. He had moved to Paterson 50 years ago after residing in East Paterson for 26 years.
He is survived by his wife Henrietta Ball Decker; Six sons, William E. Deland Fla., Charles T., Walter T and Frank A. all of Paterson: Samuel C., of Clifton, and John L. of Newark: Three daughters, Mrs. Frank (May) Kinney of East Paterson: Mrs Harry (Emma) Claeys, and Mrs Edward (Margaret) Breeze, Both of Paterson; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and a brother David Decker of Bloomingdale
