He was predeceased by: his parents, Merritt Wimberly, Sr. and Ruth Wimberly (Bates); his wife Florine Brown Wimberly (Brown); his siblings, Merritt, Nathaniel, Edward "Stein", James, Lillian Wimberly Wade Keith and Alice Wimberly; and his cousins, Mary Tourse and Henry Wimberly.
