He was predeceased by: his parents, Octavius Maye, Sr. and Alphire Hooker Maye; and his siblings, Clifton Maye, Octavius Maye, Jr., Rowena Thompson, Iris Bruton, Carrie Thompson, Zachariah Maye and Endia Maye Davis.
He is survived by: his wife Inez Brown Maye; his children, Dean Thompson, Johnnie Brown, Antoinette Newborn and Wanda Mallard; his siblings, Theodore Maye, Loualice Patrick and Gertie Jean Jarman; and his daughter-in-law Connie Brown. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends.
