It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bernice (Martin) Rice (Paterson, New Jersey), born in Allendale, South Carolina, who passed away on April 8, 2020, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lena Mae of Washington and James Martin; her husband Elbert Rice; her grandmother Everlena Allen Howard; and her sister Alberta Wilson.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Shamara and Parker Sams; her great grandchild Emory Rice; her siblings, Richard Walker, Anthony of Columbia, Sonia of Washington and Stephanie of Passaic; and her children, Elbert Rice Jr. (Shirley) of Paterson, NJ, Robert Rice of Paterson, NJ, Christopher Rice (Sherry Rice) of Garfield, NJ, David Rice (Michelle Rice) of East Rutherford, NJ, Wanda Rice of Passaic, NJ, Varnetha Rice of Passaic, NJ, Sharon Rice-Jernigan of Passaic, NJ, Cynthia Cook (Marcus Cook) of Garfield, NJ and Sheila Rice of Passaic, NJ.. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
