She was predeceased by: her husband Theodore Downing, Jr. (Ted); her parents, Otis Ward and Ludie Ward; her brother Raymond D. Ward; and her brothers-in-law, Stanley and Alvin Downing.
She is survived by: her siblings, Trena Myhand, Calvin of St. Louis, MO and Maurice Ward of Orlando, FL; her children, Karen Staley (John Staley) of Randallstown, MD and Abu Hurairah (Asiya Saddiq) of Saudi Arabia; her stepson Steven Downing (Dorrett Allen) of Paterson, NJ; her cousin Peggie Reeves; her daughters, Hattie Batchelor and Gina Lombrozo-Nickson; and her siblings, Leonard Lovely and Andrea. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and lots of cousins.
