He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Lee Gathers and William Miller; his sons, Jahlil Gathers, John Gathers and Tyreek Lankford Gathers; and his siblings, Cynthia G. Mobley (Gary Mobley), Christina Gathers and Eugene Gathers.
He is survived by: his children, Timothy Gathers Jr. (Anneuris Torres Gathers) of Passaic, NJ, Jaquice Lankford of Paterson, NJ, Asia Lankford of Passaic, NJ, Jahan Gathers of Passaic, NJ, Saheed Gathers Sr. (Luisa) of Paterson, NJ, Imani Smith of Passaic, Shakeil Shoemaker, Jalisa Shoemaker, Nikyia Salmond and Naquasha Salmond of Paterson, NJ; his siblings, Flora Shennett (Charlie Shennett), Wendy Jones, Linda Gathers of Passaic, NJ, Bernard Gathers, Eric Gathers of Passaic, NJ and Joseph Gathers of Arizona; and his grandchildren, Jah, Caydence Gathers, Za'Nyra Lankford, England Lankford, Anna Lee Marie Gathers, Saheed Gathers Jr., Aubri Volel, Jai Viona Salmond and Jaden Taylor. He is also survived by twenty-five nieces and nephews, many cousins and friends.
