He was predeceased by: his parents, Virginio Chavez and Matilda Castillo. He is survived by: his former spouse Moraima Mercado; his children, Immaculada Mejia, Manuel Chavez and Alex Chavez; his grandchildren, Ashley Chavez, Yahdani Mejia, Adriana Chavez, Emily, Isabella Chavez and Alexa Chavez; and his sister Milagro 'Cuca Chavez. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
