He was predeceased by: his parents, John Vongas and Edna Mae Vongas. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Salkin; his daughters, Jamie Vongas of Clifton and Jessica Wilks (Bryan) of Roxbury; his stepson Richard Barone of Bloomfield; his siblings, Barbara Begyn of Pompton Plains, John Vongas of Florida and George Vongas of Mendham; his grandchildren, Mariah Martinez, Madison, Richard Barone, Shane and Dylan Wilks; and his great grandchild Rae Quelix.
