He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Alexander Zakrzewski and Stanislawa Zakrzewski (Murawska); his children, Monika and Adam (Erica); his granddaughter Josephine; and his siblings, Aleksander (Zofia) and Jadwiga (Edward Kietlinski).

He was also very active in Polish organizations, which included the board of directors for the Polish Home Cracovia, the Kosciuszko Foundation, and the Polish Youth Organization, to name a few.
