He was predeceased by: his mother Sallie Carter Thorpe. He is survived by: his children, Alicia Carter, Gary P. Carter and Jason Carter; and his grandchildren, Brianna Parsons, Jordan Parsons, Nyah Carter, Giovanni Carter and Jacob Carter. He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
