He was predeceased by: his parents, John George Houghton and Genevieve Pesko Houghton; his aunt Kay Pesko; and his grandparents, George A. Houghton, Margaret Houghton Peterson, John Pesko and Anna Scieracka Pesko.
He is survived by: his siblings, Shelly M. Laurie (John) and Christopher S. Houghton (Jennifer) of Warren, Pennsylvania; and his nieces and nephews, Tara Casey, John T. Laurie, Jenine R. Jenkins, Ryan Houghton, Ian Houghton, Aaron Houghton, Meredith Houghton and Camden Houghton. He is also survived by his 13 great nieces and nephews.
