He was predeceased by: his parents, Janet Hakans and Gustave Hakans. He is survived by: his former wife Judith A. Tedeschi; his wife Judi; his children, Erik Hakans (Sandy) and Nicole Skrek (Frank); his grandchildren, Lucia, Kylie Hakans, Kama and Karys Skrek; his sister Elizabeth Mangine; his sister-in-law Judith Tedeschi; his nieces, Annmarie Scorzo, Lisa Beirne, Leanor Steiner, Gina Fulco and Mary Ann Sahoury; and his nephew Anthony "Tony" Mangine.
