She was predeceased by: her sons, Nicholas and Ronald; her former husband Louis; and her siblings, Josephine, Mildred, Vera and Frank.
She is survived by: her daughter Cheryl; her son-in-law Paul Vassil; her grandchildren, Nicholas De Santo, Desiree Dillon, Val De Santo, Mark De Santo and Brie Pettit; and her great grandchildren, Michael, Marissa, Angelo, Nicholas III, Carly, Kristen and Brie.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Carmela's memory may be made to the Dementia Society or Catholic Charities.
