He is survived by: his children, Susan (Gary Fisher) of South Carolina, Richard Chaplin of Georgia, Karen (Kim Kruse Andersen) of Denmark and Robert Chaplin of Georgia; and his grandchildren, Alyssa Chaplin, Kristian and Emma Kruse Andersen.
