He is survived by: his wife Helen Stein; his daughters, Jan Yaffe (Michael), Beth Belkin (Arthur) and Aliza DuBois (Mike Richman); his grandchildren, Jonathan (Carina), Daniel (Sangita), Jonah (Ilana), Zoe (Marco), Lydia and Eli; and his great grandchildren, Willam, Goldie, Noa and Rafael.

“Dear Helen, I watched the funeral yesterday with sadness and love in my heart. I have decades of memories of you both. Rabbi was with me through Hebrew School, my Bat Mitzvah, Hebrew High School, my wedding, and my mother's death. Years later, I thought of you as friends. Whenever I contacted Simon, he was still there for me, and you, Helen were, as well, with your warmth, tea and dessert, and smile. Condolences and love to my ex next door neighbors. I will always cherish our friendship.”
