He was predeceased by: his sister Eileen. He is survived by: his wife Catherine E.; his children, Joseph, Jr., Jeffery, Joann Logue, Sandra Rose, Thomas, Robert, Jonathan Eckart, Howard R. Bothers, IV and Heidi Bothers; and his siblings, Michael, Jr., Charles and Mary. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and loving great-grandchildren.
