He was predeceased by: his parents, Aubrey Fowlkes and Cecila Fowlkes; his wife Delores "Lois" Thompson Fowlkes; his siblings, Dorothy McIver, Elsie Faulkner, Frances Brown, Aubrey Fowlkes and Charles Raymond Fowlkes; and his grandson Jameer.
He is survived by: his children, Janet, Gennien Thompson and Jermaine Thompson; his daughter-in-law Shanicka Thompson; his grandchildren, Jurnee, Marquise, Jahaad, Jermaine, Jr., Jaquan, Jahshawn, Shaheem, Quadir, Makei and Nayaud; his great grandchildren, Chase, Cody and Caden; his nephew Jordan Boatwright; and his nieces, Diane, Lisa, Bonita, Tameeka, Iva and Felicia. He is also survived by eight nieces, five nephews-in-law, cousins, great nephews and nieces.
