She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Santo Cardaci and Raffaela Saitta Cardaci; her husband Paul James Nicolardi; her children, Melissa, Nancy and David; her daughter-in-law Kerry; her grandchildren, Evie, Charlie and Jack Nicolardi; and her siblings, Anna, Santa, Joseph, Agostino, Nunziato, Vito and Salvatore. She was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, cousins.

In lieu of flowers the family appreciates contributions in Carmela's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
