He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Jackson and Elizabeth Jackson (Dooley); his sister Maureen Hazzard; his siblings-in-law, Dick Hazzard, Joe Gillespie, Bob Reiners and Eileen Gillespie; and his daughter-in-law Helene Jackson (Nash).

He is survived by: his wife Betty Gillespie; his children, Thomas (Karen Sheridan), Joseph (Lisa), John (Linda) and Susan Bruchez (Don); his grandchildren, Bryan (Jamie), Erin, Meghan, Colleen, Brendan, Caitlin, Daniel, Lauren, Jonathan and Matthew; his great grandchild Leo; and his siblings-in-law, Joyce Gillespie, Susan Reiners and Jim Gillespie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests supporting your favorite veterans organization.
