He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Tonra and Catherine Tonra (Lynch); his sisters, Mary Sanna and Margaret Tonra; and his brothers-in-law, Thomas Sanna, Michael O'Connor and Arthur Sickler.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Tonra (Dowling); his children, Francis Tonra Jr., Celeste Tonra, Christopher Tonra, Laura Tonra, Deborah Tonra, Jennifer Jobson and Kurt Jobson; his grandchildren, Francis Tonra III, Ashley Tonra, Nicholas Parlapiano, Rachael Parlapiano, Keith Tonra, Mallory Tonra, Kathryn Tonra, Efrain Tonra, Abbey Jobson, Joseph Tonra, Angel Tonra, Melanie Jobson, Jose Tonra and Skyler Tonra; and his great grandchildren, Francis Tonra IV, Jaxon Tonra and Ryder Tonra.
