Anna Caroline Valazza, known affectionately as Ann, peacefully departed this life on October 30, 2023, in Old Bridge, New Jersey. Born on October 6, 1937, in Bronx, New York, Ann was a cherished figure whose innate generosity, selflessness, and warm-heartedness left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Ann's remarkable journey was defined by a deep devotion to her family and an unwavering commitment to the values of love and service. She found her life's joy and purpose, not in grand gestures, but in the everyday acts of kindness that characterized her interactions with those she loved. Her life was a testament to the power of love, constantly expressed through her selfless actions.
Surviving Ann is her cherished family: son Michael Valazza and his wife Debra of Skillman, NJ; daughter Carol Poppiti and her husband Charles of Old Bridge, NJ; son Stephen Valazza and his wife Linda of Old Bridge, NJ; and sister Mary Netti. Ann's memory will continue to be a blessing for her 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, whose lives were enriched by her love and guidance. Ann was preceded in death by her loyal and loving husband, Rudy Valazza, by her parents Rudolph and Mary Gazak, and her sisters, Ruth Ferrara and Irene Cinotti.
Ann attended Cathedral High School in Manhattan, where she graduated in 1955. Her education laid the groundwork for her future roles as an administrator at the Religious Education office of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church in Old Bridge, and later as the parish secretary. Her dedicated service to the church community was a testament to her faith and commitment to helping others, as she was also a former President of the St. Ambrose Columbiettes, a member of the Altar Rosary Society and a long-time volunteer at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic outreach organization.
Ann's enjoyment of life was evident in her many interests. An adventurous spirit, Ann loved traveling and exploring new places. Her explorations ranged from the simple pleasure of a day at the beach to the excitement of international travel. This love of new experiences was a testament to her open-hearted approach to life and her desire to savor every moment.
Ann's hands were rarely still. Knitting was more than a hobby for her; it was a means of manifesting her love and generosity. Each stitch was a testament to her patience and dedication, and her handcrafted gifts became treasured keepsakes for friends and family alike. These tangible tokens of her affection will continue to provide warmth and comfort, reminding her loved ones of the gentle and giving soul who created them.
In life, Ann was the epitome of selflessness and generosity, always prioritizing the needs and happiness of others above her own. Her love extended beyond the confines of her family, touching everyone she encountered. She was a beacon of kindness, whose light will never truly be extinguished.
The legacy she leaves behind is one of uncompromised love, kindness, and dedication. It is a testament to a life well-lived, brimming with joy, shared experiences, and the profound satisfaction of having made a difference in the lives of others. We mourn Ann's passing but celebrate the life of a remarkable woman. Her spirit will remain with us, continuing to guide and inspire, just as it did during the beautiful years she spent among us.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, 10:30 am at the Saint Ambrose Church, 83 Throckmorton Lane, Old Bridge, NJ, 08857.
Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Burial Park and Mausoleum, 840 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, NJ 08816.
