He was predeceased by: his parents, Aaron Shearer and Virginia Shearer; his wife Virginia; his brother Frederick Shearer; and his niece Maya Shearer.
He is survived by: his brother Walter Shearer (Shigeko) of Hartsdale, NY; his niece Jennifer Shearer of Savanna, GA; and his nephews, Jeremy, Justin of Seattle, WA and Jonathan Shearer of Savanna, GA.
