She was predeceased by: her husband James C. McCowan Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Steven Willis (Shelly), Dawn Shields (Matthew) and James McCowan III; her grandchildren, Madison, Sidney, Rosario, Elijah, Darrin, Makayla and Maddie; and her siblings, Doris Estelle, Stanley McKinney and Gail Franks.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Woodbine Cemetery (14 Maple Ave, Oceanport, NJ 07757).
