We are sad to announce that on December 15, 2024, at the age of 87, Athena Hadjimarkos of Ocean, New Jersey passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her siblings, Kosta Kostidakis and Effie Gardner; her former husband Theodoros Hadjimarkos; and her parents, Angeliki Kostidakis and Semos Kostidakis.

She is survived by: her children, Marina (Petros Thomas) and Presbytera Angela; her mother-in-law Sharon; her grandchild Theoni (Yianni Karalis); her great grandchildren, Aleksandra and Marina; her grandson Constantine Thomas (Marlene); her great grandchild Eleftheria; her grandchildren, Athena Thomas, Alexandra Thomas, Nicholas Eugenis (Athanasia), Jordan Eugenis, Theodore Eugenis, Stefanos Eugenis, Markos Eugenis, Theodore Hadjimarkos, Nicholas Sekera and Athena Sekera; her siblings, Paraskos Kostidakis (Litsa), Yianni Kostidakis (Magda), Joanna Cosmas (Christos) and Maraki Epitropakis (George); and her child Theodoros. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St George Greek Orthodox Church (1033 W Park Ave, Ocean Township, NJ 07712). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church in memory of Athena.

May the days ahead be filled with all of her love she gave each of you each and every time you were together. Athena was one of a kind, a treasure.
