He was predeceased by: his brother George McDonald (Harriet). He is survived by: his wife Theresa Dodds-McDonald; his children, Patti Grabas (Joe), Kathy Bascom (Michael) and Scott McDonald (Jennifer); the mother of his children Carol McDonald (Gross); his stepchildren, Ashley Gannon (Matt) and Taylor Kluger (Jason); his grandchildren, Joseph (Stephanie), Brielle (Ryan), Daniel (Lotte), Rebecca and Sydnie; and his great grandchild Sloane Caroline.
A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Catharine's Roman Catholic Church (215 Essex Ave, Spring Lake, NJ 07762). A burial will be held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 at 11:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to John's late brother's foundation: The Doe Fund (https://www.doe.org), which provides comprehensive supportive services to individuals with histories of homelessness; or, to honor Dr. Postow and Dr. Ariyan's exceptional care, a donation to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (https://giving.mskcc.org), in John's honor.
