Jacqueline Meloni Obituary
Beloved Mother, Sister, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, 85.
Mrs. Jacqueline A. (nee Barbara) Meloni, 85, of Nutley, N.J., passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston. Visitation will be at the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue, on Monday, January 29 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Tuesday, January 30 at 9:30 a.m. There will be a funeral mass celebrated at Holy Family Church, 28 Brookline Avenue, Nutley at 10:30 a.m. The cremation will be held privately.
Jacqueline was born in Jersey City, NJ, and resided in Nutley since 1953. She was a proud graduate of the Nutley High School Class of 1956. Jacqueline earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Montclair State University, and her Masters Degree in education from Marygrove College. She was a dedicated teacher at Franklin Middle School, Nutley, for many years before retiring in 2004. She later became a Realtor and was the owner of World Class Realty in Totowa for many years. She was currently at Century 21 Award in Nutley.
Jacqueline was a member of the National Education Association and the New Jersey Education Association. She was also a member of the Realtors Association and the North Central Jersey Association of Realtors (N.C.J.A.R). She was a RPAC and team leader, Verification committee member, and Grievance committee member. She received the Circle of Excellence award and Bronze Circle of Excellence and was also Realtor of the Year.
Jacqueline loved cooking for her family, spending time at the beach and at her condo in Naples, FL. She also enjoyed all adventures.
She is survived by her beloved daughter Niki and her husband Pete Vlasakakis; her loving sister Deanna Chuy; her cherished grandchildren Richard and Ariana Vlasakakis; and her precious great-grandchildren Evan and Ella.
Jacqueline is predeceased by her husband Richard Meloni (1971), her longtime companion of 16 years, James McGinley (2021), and her son James Meloni (1992).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Nutley Educational Foundation, P. O. Box 735, Nutley, NJ 07110.
