He is survived by: his children, Michael P. Sharkey, Joan M. Tartell (Gary), Mary Chiaramonte (Christopher) and Patricia E. Paton (Gary); his grandchildren, Matthew S. Paton, Jennifer L. Paton and Nicholas A. Paton; his niece Lisa Sharkey; his nephews, Brian Sharkey and Jamie Sharkey; his great-nephew Jamie Sharkey, Jr.; and his cousin Martin Henry.
