He was predeceased by: his wife Rhea M.; and his siblings, Emery Gaudreau and Jean Elgar. He is survived by: his children, Rhea F. Ruppell (Timothy), Gretchen F. Strauch (Peter) and Donald J. Jr. (Jennifer); and his grandchildren, Timothy Ruppell, Ryan Ruppell, Alyson Rupell Snure, Shannon Strauch, Sean Strauch and Elizabeth Gaudreau.
