He was predeceased by: his parents, Melville Mercier and Dorothy Mercier; his brother Melville Joseph, Jr.; and his wife Joyce Rifkin Mercier. He is survived by: his children, Janice Audrey Mercier and Arthur Richard Mercier, Jr.; the mother of his children Janice Armstrong; his stepdaughter Jennifer O'Connell; his daughter-in-law Alicia Mercier; and his granddaughter Gianna Mercier.
