He is survived by: his wife Esther Howie (McLean) of Northfield; his sons, Craig Howie (Kim) of Center Valley, PA, Doug Howie (Jesi) of Tarpon Springs, FL, Christopher Howie (Gupi) of Washington, DC and Mark Howie (Jessica) of Middletown, NJ.; his stepchildren, Michael, Jacqueline Zarrillo of Northfield, NJ, James, Cathy Portock of Linwood, NJ, Jason and Jennifer Portock of Chesapeake, VA.; and his brother Doug (Sue).

“Dear Esther and Family, Words are inadequate to express the deep sorrow I feel in the loss of my dear friend and brother Bill. We first met over 50 years ago at Glassboro State College where we were pursuing our Master Degrees, and a life-long friendship develop. We enjoyed golfing, restaurant breakfasts, church services and long phone calls.. Be consoled by the scriptures, "To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord," and "To live is Christ, to die is gain." Dennis Jones”
