He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth Dickson and Samuel Dickson; and his brother Michael. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth of Guire's Greater Pittsburgh Bar; his children, Shane, Shannon and Danny; and his sisters, Sandra (John), Susan (Glenn) and Jacqueline (Gerard). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
