He was predeceased by: his father Frank Vance; his grandparent Astor Johnson (Alma); and his siblings, Joseph and Vernell Vance. He is survived by: his mother Erma Vance; his brother Miles Vance; his uncles, James Johnson (Carol) and Joseph "Joe" Johnson; his children, Shean Vance (Charlene), Shakema Vance, Markefe Vance, Shannon Parker, Reginald Edghill (Krystal), Jamal Laster and AJ Vance; his stepdaughter Dana Leach (Christopher); his grandchildren, Chais Hill, Shane Lovas, Mason Vance, Aubrey, Amare Edghill and LJ Laster; his stepgrandchildren, Naasir and Zahir Leach; and his great grandchild Londyn Hill. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

During the pandemic, Franklin stepped into another role of service while working at the United Methodist Assisted Living facilities in Pitman and Collingswood, NJ.

“Franklin starting working for me 5 years ago from an ad on indeed , and then at UMC. We continued to build decks and other projects together after we both left UMC. We spent a lot of time working together. We were friends and discussed how proud he was of his kids and how much he adored his Miss Francis. He was a man of exceptional character.
