He was predeceased by: his sister Susanne. He is survived by: his wife Linda; his children, William J. Jr., Christopher (Amy), Lauren and Jaclyn; and his brothers, Joseph (Bobbie), Sean (Trish) and Kevin. He is also survived by nine granddaughters and many nieces and nephews, and his devoted friend.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials in his name to St. Jude Research Hospital in Memphis Tenn.
