He was predeceased by: his siblings, Florence, John, Rich, Jim and Margretta.

He is survived by: his sons, Gerald J. Veenstra (Donna) of North Haledon and Jeffrey A. Veenstra of North Haledon; his grandchildren, Alyssa, Kelsey Alberdi (Brooks), Brianne and Jenna; his brother Mike Veenstra (Ruth); and his sister-in-law Lois Veenstra. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Eastern Christian Children's Retreat, 700 Mountain Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481.
