He was predeceased by: his father Donald William Westra, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Mary (Abma); his sons, Zacharie Westra (Alyssa Provencher) of North Haledon, Justin Westra (Heather) and Dylan Westra of North Haledon; his mother Judith Westra; his siblings, Pam Abma (Jim Abma) of Wyckoff, Michael Westra (Sandra) and John Westra (Kristin); and his siblings-in-law, Sam, Anna Abma, Dave, Patty Abma, Tom, Luann Abma, Steve and Rebecca Abma.
